Lately I've been thinking about the outside of our house. In truth, it is looking not so great. I have heard that people often look at the outside of the house to determine what's going to be inside. Well, please don't do this with ours! I like for the inside to be looking nice (which, I happen to think it does) before I get to the outside. I said all that to say that in this society, we do the same thing. We look at people's outward appearance and make assumptions. I know I do it all the time. The Lord has been speaking to me about appearance and not to just assume things based on what people are wearing or how they act around certain people. People, just like a house, can appear to have it all together and look great but you go inside and find it's a mess. So, basically I said all that to say this...try looking a little closer. Don't look past people if they physically don't meet up to your standards.
1 Samuel 16:7 "....The Lord doesn't see things the way you see them. People judge by the outward appearance,
but the Lord looks at the heart"
I know this may seem a little old school, but sometimes we need to go back to the basics. Sometimes we
need to be reminded of simple things.
